A TREE FOR ROSALIE

Give fools their gold, and knaves their power; let fortune's bubbles rise and fall; who sows a field, or trains a flower, or plants a tree, is more than all.
-John Greenleaf Whittier-

  2. Rosalie sounds like she may be related to one of my own children. Unlike me, who needs to have every window covering in house open to let in the light (I abhor dark rooms), number 2 son keeps all of his curtains drawn tight. I open them up, he goes right behind me and closes them, telling me that there could be people outside, looking in. Nefarious people with evil intention.

  4. Trees, that's a great poem even though I don't think any frigging god makes them.

Keep your windows clear so you can see them, and your gun loaded, Mildred of course doesn't feel any need for a gun, she lives on a different planet than I do.

  6. BBC: Like Mildred, I see no need for a gun. Two reasons, really. One of the reasons: I am afraid I might stick it in my mouth on a particularly depressing day.

Most of the problems in my neck of the woods are related to assholes with guns, who have no qualms about using them in any situation. I mean ANY situation.
