I didn't. I only saw my friends on the school bus and in school (till high school then I was more social). But without electronics in those days, and no friends, I spent a lot of time exploring the woods, reading, making crafts, listening to the radio. Last summer we took my stepkids and their significant others to play mini golf and then to lunch. The second we sat down at the table, all 5 of them pulled out their phones. Oh well.
