RONNIE

Before anyone gets their underwear in a big wad, I haven't drunk the Kool-Aid! Yes, Ronnie was named
after Ronald Reagan. Ronnie was purchased on the day of President Reagan's death. My step-father and my daughter decided to buy a black Lab puppy and were having trouble agreeing on a name for him so I suggested the name Ronnie. My step-father was a staunch Republican so the name Ronnie was a given. Ronnie passed away yesterday after living a very long and happy life. Please keep my daughter and her family in your thoughts. Ronnie was a part of her family for many, many years and will be missed by all. He was a beautiful black Lab and although as he grew old, he slowed down and like an old person he grew fragile, slow and stubborn, but he always remained that beautiful black Lab puppy that they brought home many years ago in all our hearts. Rest in peace, Ronnie and go be with Grandpa now.

  1. What a beautiful dog!!!!!! It's always sad to lose a pet. And dogs have way more thinking and skills than people know.

    1. My daughter got Ronnie before my grandson was in Kindergarten and he's in college now. It's hard to believe he's gone. We just figured he was going to live forever.

  2. R.I.P Ronnie. I am so sorry for all you having this huge loss. But he was 15 yrs old. That is such a long life or a Labrador, but never long enough though right?
I have a choc.lab and honestly they are just the best dogs ever. Mine is about to be 11 and she is slowing down. Again, I am sincerely sorry for your loss.

    1. Yes losing a pet is difficult. I still miss pets I have lost years ago too. I have 3 dogs now and dread the day I lose any of them. Ronnie was a huge part of my daughter's life for many, many years and he'll always be missed.

    1. I will do that but my daughter plans to comment herself when she has some free time. She's pretty slammed at work right now. She just had an employee pass away so she's short handed right now.

    1. Ronnie had a very good life. I remember how whenever I would go visit my daughter he'd come out to greet me. I know he was old and I know things can't live forever, but he was the last tie to my father that we had and now Ronnie's gone and we're all very sad.
